Very briefly and succinctly,

Net art crap art...not the content of other artists' works but the medium
itself.

The most engaging "art" still, in my experience, is the written word.

No amount of flash, java, asp, php, link to link, hyper, ripper art online
equals the old mailing list which stimulates and provokes thought, which
agitates, offends unlike nothing else. And when I choose, I ignore it
without really missing out because I still get to skim through the
experience.

The mailing list satiates my right now hit me baby immediate gratification.
